The Japanese Gundam Statue MOVES!
Posted by Mavrik | Filed under Tech
Behold the awesomeness!
Yes that’s right. The head moves and it makes its boobs smokin hot! Sorry couldn’t resist, but I have to say, the chest was probably the worst idea for the exhaust (I’m assuming that’s what it is – or maybe it’s a smoke machine? Either way, bad idea). It would be nicer if it was out of the upper back or something that way it would seem more futuristic since it would be more out of sight. But what do I know. I love the “ching” sound it makes after it strikes a post, very anime (and this is coming from someone who isn’t too keen on anime in general).

Why the Japanese Hate the iPhone
Posted by Mavrik | Filed under Tech
This is a really interesting article on Wired.com that I highly recomment you check out. It discusses the cultural aspects and features that have lead to the iPhone selling so poorly in Japan that they are being offered for free. I don’t do it justice in this short summary so be sure to follow the link below, but a lot of it has to do with the fact that the technology and features are behind other phones in Japan in addition to the Japanese shunning Western brands (this is arguably the case for the Xbox 360’s poor sales in Japan too for you gamers out there). It’s a good read so click the link below to read the full article.

And The 5 Best-Selling PS3 Games Of All Time (In Japan) Are… [Ouch]
Posted by Mavrik | Filed under ZOMG
Famitsu, a Japanese gaming magazine, published a list showing the five best-selling PS3 games of all time in Japan with exact sales figures. And (surprise surprise) Metal Gear Solid 4 tops the list.
But what comes after it is the part that will make most PS3 owners cry like poor, sad babies. Why you might ask? Well, see for yourself. Sorry PS3 fans.
Here are the top 5 lifetimes sales as of November 16.
1. Metal Gear Solid 4 – 671,706
2. Hot Shots Golf: Out of Bounds – 408,175
3. Dynasty Warriors 6 – 371,443
4. Dynasty Warriors: Gundam – 317,580
5. Pro Evolution Soccer 2008 – 316,533
Yikes. I guess we can see why the PS3 is under-performing in Japan. When your second best selling game is Hot Shots Golf, you know there’s a problem. Hopefully 2009 will be much better for them with Killzone 2 and God of War 3 expected to be released. As a 360 user, but a Sony fan at heart, this is very troubling.
