After hours of waiting, as well as a site crash which left a lot of gamers unhappy, Kojima Productions’ countdown timer has expired to reveal…another countdown timer. Yay!
The background on the page has changed just a tiny bit. Instead of clouds and thunder, there is now rain added to the thunderstorm. The background, which formerly displayed an “S” or a “5″ every time lightning flashed, now also displays an “e” or “@” and then “E” and “3″, perhaps hinting at the fact that the game will be shown at E3 (pictures below).
Unfortunately, the timer now reads roughly 120 hours, or 5 days, so we’ll have to be patient until next Wednesday Japan Time to learn the truth. According to IGN, a 7/11 site (strange?) in Japan spilled the news that it was a new Metal Gear Game and that the latest Famitsu would have an article on it. That sounds prety shady to me, but I’m pretty sure most of us think it’s a new Metal Gear game starring Raiden (which in Japanese means lightning…hence the lightning storm – get it?).
