Cammie Dunaway of Nintendo is a bitch…among other things [DSi launch]

Watch this interview with Nintendo’s Cammie Dunaway from theĀ  DSi launch last week and wait for about 2:20 where she gets kind of defensive and mean when asked why they didn’t go with the traditional white color for the new DSi. I love how the guy from IGN is just stunned and forgets to bring the mic back haha. Nintendo really wants her to be the new face of Nintendo America? Reggie Fils-Aime needs to do more PR. I can’t take her seriously at all. I don’t know about you, but she kind of gives me a Sarah Palin I-have-no-idea-what-I’m-talking-about vibe. Dunaway used to work for Yahoo, which to me seems like she really is out of her league with video games (another similarity with Palin…zing!). And what’s with the last few seconds of the video about E3: “All I can say is I hope we have something.” Haha are you serious right now? You’re supposed to get people excited, not lose hope Cammie. And that really was the last straw for me when I saw this video. Reading the comments on this video are hilarious too.

But seriously, Nintendo really needs to show some love to us hardcore gamers who feel so abandoned. I even sold my Wii after the first year to get a 360 because I lost interest in the games that were coming out. It’s really sad to see that there will be 2 Wii Sports games before 2 of any of Nintendo’s longtime franchises (Mario, Zelda, Metroid…and Star Fox hasn’t even come out yet!). That just goes to show you how Nintendo really doesn’t care at all about you or the games, just the money. I’m sure we can say that about a lot if not all of the companies, especially in this economy, but at least some are better at hiding it. Square Enix seems to be going in Nintendo’s direction as well with their Final Fantasy rereleases to the DS and stepping away from development. I could go on and on, but here’s something to think about on this Monday.
