Holy crap Google’s Chrome is amazing! [Hands-on]

Posted by Mavrik | Filed under ZOMG

Google just released the beta for their new browser called Chrome. To see a fully in depth hands on by lifehacker.com, click the link below. The browser is the fastest I have ever used both in terms of starting up and loading pages. It’s amazing light for such a feature packed browser. It’s not without its problems however. It’s an early build so there isn’t much to mess with, but it has the BEST features from every browser out there (and even some features you have to install plugins for in other browsers). Check it out and download it now, you won’t be disappointed! For those of you who are worried about having to put in all your bookmarks and settings again, no worries! As soon as Chrome starts up, it asks if you’d like Firefox’s bookmarks and passwords entered into chrome (or IE if that’s your default browser). It’s exactly how you had your Firefox browser in a sec.

UPDATE: Here’s another review by the Inquisitr on the pros and cons of the browser. An interesting point they bring up is that Chrome will chisel into the Firefox crowd that’s more willing to try a new browser than the IE crowd. So don’t expect IE to loose much footing with this release.

UPDATE 2: After messing around with the browser for a good hour or two, I have to say that though it’s no Firefox, it definitely has taken the no. 2 browser position on my computer. What is it lacking you ask? Well for one, I miss my plugins from Firefox and also several sites (like facebook) do not work 100%. I’m sure this’ll all be ironed out once the official version is released, but until then…I might still dabble in Chrome for quick surfing, but Firefox is still my default browser.
